Just a little bit more. A little bit longer. The invisible wire that Kenz had purchased just the day before was being used for one of her best pranks yet. She tied it onto the leg of one desk and the bottom of the teacher's desk, so the wire lain exactly where she wanted it to and the height she wanted it to. It was perfectly positioned for when the teacher would walk in the doorway. The teacher would trip on the string, pulling down the bucket of paint Mac oh-so-cleverly tied to the string. It was going to be perfect.
"The teacher's coming, the teacher's coming!" one of her fellow classmates whispered; and Mac walked nonchalantly back to her desk, feeling accomplished. Although, she was kind of disappointed that she didn't have a chance to take out the bolts in her chair. "Aw crap." Kenz shrugged, Well at least I got the important part done. She sat and waited impatiently for the prank to be a success, like they usually were. Ooc:This is the thread where Jem first notices that she even exists, lol.

Jem had not been in the classroom yet. He was late, though fortunately, so was the teacher. He followed right behind the oblivious teacher to the room, in attempt to sneak in. However when the teacher walked in, she was not happy. Jem was happy to see the prank and found it very amusing. Trying not to laugh, he hopped over the teacher and ran to his desk. He knew who had done it. It had to be that Mackenzie girl. He could tell from her expression. He could pick it out on anyone since he often wore it. She was accomplished.

Mackenzie busted out laughing when her Global teacher got drenched in blood red paint. She enjoyed it while she could, knowing the teacher would figure out it was her. ...Or maybe not. The teacher looked pretty clueless, and a little angry, but she seemed not to know who did this. Score! "Excuse me class, while I go clean up." Teach walked out the door, leaving what could only be called a blood trail behind.
"Score!" she yelled, jumping out of her seat and onto the desk. Some people in the class started applauding. Mac laughed and bowed. "Thank you, thank you." Kenz loved how much attention she was getting for this. "I guess class is over with today!" As soon as she said that, everyone started filing out of the room quickly, eager to do other things. Well, everyone but her and some guy. "Aren't you going?" she asked, jumping off the desk.

Jem laughed a little and shook his head. Nah. Actually, I wanted to know what kind of paint that is. It's epic. Can't be acrylic.. He sounded very amused at what she had done. He didn't know she was like that. He had thought only he could pull off something like that. As often, he was wrong.

Mackenzie smiled and chuckled. He couldn't seriously be over here to ask me about the paint. Or maybe he was..she didn't know much about him at all. Screw it, she knew nothing about this kid. "Apparently you don't know a lot about paint, because this stuff is definitely acryllic." She said in a slighty teasing attitude.
"I don't think I ever got your name. I'm Mackenzie, Kenz for short." She hated her name. It was really girly and prissy, which she was quite the opposite of. She examined the boy, not really noticing him before this incident.

Really?? Dang that's bright colored.. like blood. He laughed a little as he noticed he was talking about paint. Hi Kenz. I'm Jem. He didn't even bother to say his name was Jeremy. Most people seemed to immediately notice that Jem wasn't exactly common. He smiled a little. Why hadn't he noticed her before? He was normally very observant.

"Blood? Interesting comparison." she said, laughing. Kenz liked this guy already. Jem, a very interesting name, unique, unlike her own. "Jem, I like it. I hate my name. It's so prissy and annoying." She looked up at the clock, noticing it was already halfway through the period. Jeez time went by so fast. "So you liked the prank?" Kenz was proud of it; it was one of her best.
Kenz looked out in the hallway to see the teacher run by, still completely covered in paint. It looked like she had attempted to get it off but was miserably unsuccessful. "Look." she told Jem, pointing out to the hallway where she was. She was holding back laughter.

Jem laughed as she ran by the door. Yea, I loved it. It was pretty epic. He chuckled. Really? I like your name. Mine's actually Jeremy. He cringed at the sound of his own name. Kenz seemed really nice. He liked her personality, it was so fun to be around.

Kenz's eyes furrowed in confusion. Why didn't he like his name? It sounded pretty chill. "I like the name Jeremy. It's cool. Not annoying, prissy, weird...is there any good reason why you don't like it?" It seemed like everyone she knew hated their name. If she could have named herself, her name would have been something cool like Destiny or Drew, after Drew Berrymore of course. She was the shit. Oops, getting a little off track here. She smiled at what she had been thinking and brought herself back into reality.
The bell rang, signaling that it was time to go to to 7th period. For Kenz, that was English. The only class that she was recently failing; she didn't want to go there at all. "Hey, why don't you say we skip that last few periods of school." A mischievous smirk growing on her face.

Jem laughed when she asked if there was a good reason. Not really. I don't suppose I need one. He smirked as she offered to skip class with him, though he was unsure. He wasn't normally one to skip class, though he had on occasion. He shrugged, thinking about his later classes. He wasn't looking forward to them, and it's not like his parents paid enough attention to notice. I say that's a pretty good idea.

"You should have a reason to hate your name." she said, not knowing why she wouldn't drop the subject. In the grand scheme of things, it wasn't really that important at all. "There's a reason to everything." Kenz was lying to herself. She didn't believe there was a reason for half the crap that went on in her life. Her accident, her brother's condition, her father alcohol issues, there were no good reasons for any of those things. Wrong time wrong place, a bad gene, and a messed up family maybe. But no good plausible reasons.
Honesty, Kenzie didn't believe that he would go along with her. She was glad, however, that he had said yes. Skipping was no fun alone. "Alright, let's go." she looked outside for just a second before stepping out of the classrom, dragging Jem along. She wobbled along quietly and sneekily with Jem following until they made it to one of the exits, in which Kenz opened the door, and shouted "Sweet freedom!" Kenz started laughing at how stupid she sounded.
It was about lunchtime, and Mac's stomach was growling obnoxiously. "I'm hungry." she spotted the Arbys across the street. "Let's go there. It's definitely better than the crap they serve here." She had a few bucks stashed away on here pocket, as if she knew that she was going to ditch today. Mac started hobbling her way over to the Arbys, eager to get something to eat.
